Description

SYNOPSIS The Federal Medical Center (FMC) Devens, located at Devens, Massachusetts, has a requirement for inmate funeral services. Services will be required for a one-year base period, with a possibility for four one-year option periods for a total of sixty months from the date of award. The Government intends to make a single award for this requirement. The contractor shall call for the body and transport remains to the contractor's funeral home in a suitable closed conveyance. After embalming and dressing, the contractor shall transport the body to the railway station, air terminal, or local cemetery as directed by FMC Devens. Cemeteries located within a 50-mile radius of the institution will be considered local cemeteries. Contractor shall secure or furnish all necessary papers and permits for shipment or interment. Suitable space in the undertaking establishment shall be available for the performance of postmortem examinations by the Government. Due to the response time requirement contractor shall be located within a 100 mile radius of FMC Devens and properly licensed to perform these services in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a quote to be considered for award.
