Description

The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) intends to extend Contract No. DCA200-97-D-0073, Joint Surveillance System-Communications Service (JSS-CS), a firm fixed price contract, on a sole source basis. The contractor is General Dynamics Government Systems Corporation, 2101 Executive Drive, Hampton VA 23666-2416. The contract currently will expire on 28 February 2001, and will be extended through 30 September 2001, with options to extend the contract for up to one year. The purpose of this extension is to provide continuous, uninterrupted service as a bridge between the existing contract and the new competitive award currently being worked. The mission of the JSS-CS is peacetime air sovereignty and surveillance/drug interdiction and war time limited air defense. The contract provides program management, maintenance (on site and corrective), technical support, and technical enhancements for the JSS-CS communications terminal equipment in CONUS, Alaska and Hawaii regions. Equipment is located at Region/Sector Air Operations Centers and remote locations, such as sensor sites, Ground Air Ground (GAG) radio sites and fighter units. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency in accordance with Numbered Note 22.
