Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) has a requirement to design and build a Mezzanine Storage System into an existing warehouse structure. The structure is approximately 25,000 square feet. The structure shall have two layers of mezzanine. The first phase shall consist of the design plan. The contractor shall be responsible for the design and configuration of the storage bins. The first floor deck shall be utilized for storage items in bulk and large capacity heavy weight items. The second floor shall be converted to warehouse storage bins for piece parts, components, nuts, bolts, and miscellaneous components. The third floor shall warehouse additional bins for storage for nuts, bolts and screws. The contractor shall allow for have heating, ventilation, and air-conditioned (HVAC) office areas in the design plan. All designs must comply with all state and federal manufacturing standards. The recipient who design plan is accepted by the government may be entitled to design costs upon award of the contract. The second phase of the Mezzanine storage system shall be approved in conjunction with the acceptance of government's approval official. It is anticipated that oral presentations shall be granted to present the best design plans submitted for this effort. The government expects the qualified contractors either alone or with appropriate teaming partners to possess the capabilities or experience to provide design services as follows, project schedule, project requirements, AutoCAD drawings, and the Mezzanine storage system. The solicitation and drawings will be available electronically on or about 14 December 2000 by downloading the information from the NAVAIR solicitation index is located at: http://www.navair.navy.mil/business/ecommerce/index.cfm. Interested parties shall submit their request electronically or in writing to Ms Teri L. All documentation shall become the property of the government. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) applicable 235950 the Standard Industry Classification (SIC) code is 1796. This requirement is a total 100% set-aside for Small Businesses. When requesting the solicitation, please refer to solicitation number N00421-00-R-0059 on all correspondence. When the solicitation is released it is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor these sites for release of any solicitation information. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
