Description

The work consists of expanding the exisitng NY Army National Guard Armory, located at Hancock Field, Syracuse, NY. In general the expansion will consist of four parts, the main addition, the unheated storage addition, and improvements to building entrances and parking. The main addition will be a two story, steel-framed structure constructed on conventional spread footing and concrete slab-on-grade with conventional masonry, brick, and gypsum board wall construction. The unheated storage building and heated storage room will be constructed with concrete spread footings, slab-on-grade, masonry loadbearing walls and standing seam roof and truss system. Additional work includes stand alone HVAC system and other associated mechanical equipment, Arms Vault with Class V door and CCTV system. The addition will be built to match the exisitng structure in accordance with plans and specifications provided by the Government. The construction schedule and all elements of the work will be coordinated with the New York Army National Guard Office of Facilities and Engineering. The magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The construction period is 365 calendar days from acknowledgement of Notice to Proceed. The solicitation is unrestricted, all responsible parties may submit a bid. Large business concerns are required to submit a small business subcontracting plan per FAR 52.219-9 Alternate #1. The NAICS classification applicable to this solicitation is 233320 with a size standard of $27.5 million. The issue date of the solicitation is scheduled for on or around 12/29/00. A site visit is scheduled for 01/16/01 at the NYS Armory, 6900 Thompson Road, Syracuse, NY 13211 at 10:00 AM. The bid opening date is scheduled for on or around 01/30/01 at 01:30 local time. The specification book and drawings will be issued via CD-ROM, AutoCAD Version 14. Interested parties may request a solicitation package by written request to: USPFO-NY, 330 Old Niskayuna Road, Latham, NY 12110-2224. The request must be accompanied by a cashiers check or money order payable to the US Treasury in the amount of $50.00. Company checks will NOT be accepted. Contractors must identify their business size,and their bidding status (prime, sub or supplier). Funding is not currently available for this acquisition. Contract award will not be made until appropriated funding is received for which payment for contract purposes may be made.
