Description
The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside as acquisition for HUBZONE concerns only. The estimate value of this procurement is between $50,000 and $150,000.00. The small business size standard is 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for dockside repairs to the USCGC MOHAWK (WMEC 913), a 270 foot medium endurance cutter. All work will be performed in Key West, FL, the cutter's homepier. The performance period is for 35 days. The scope of the acquisition is for overhauling, modifying, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC MOHAWK (WMEC 913). This work is such as, but limited to: cleaning, inspecting and preserving fuel, oil and water tanks; renewing doors, hatches, and scuttles; cleaning ventilation systems; renewing ventilators; renew ventilation ductwork and overhaul fans and renewing deck coverings. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is a HUBZONE certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by email to smartinez@mlca.uscg.mil or by fax (757) 628-4675/76. Questions may be referred to Ms. Sandra Martinez at (757) 628-4591. In response you must include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contract; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, point of contacts and telephone numbers; and (c) past performance references with point of contacts and telephone numbers. At least two references are requested but more are desirable. Your response is required by December 8, 2000. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZONE set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HIBZONE small business set aside or on a unrestricted basis will be posted in the CBD.
