Description
The USCG MLCP in Alameda, CA, proposes to contract for the Drydock and Repair of the USCGC RUSH (WHEC 723) in Hawaii. The contractor_s facility must be located in the State of Hawaii. Work will begin on 9 May 2001 and complete on 26 June 2001. Anticipated work items include: accommodation ladder lashing point, rope guard and fairwater renewals, leak test and preservation of appendages, hull plating test and inspect, transom structural damage repair, leak test and preserve voids, propulsion shafting removal, inspection and maintenance, propulsion shaft seals inspect and clean, CPP system maintenance, CPP hydraulic system piping and filter modification, propeller clean and inspect, firemain-ASW cross connect relief valve discharge modification, sea value overhaul and renewals, magazine sprinkler valve overhaul, hydraulic accumulators repair, rudder inspection, bow propulsion maintenance, anchor chain, hull plating preservation, freeboard preservation, zincs renewal, and propulsion shafting removal, inspection and maintenance. On or about 27 December 2000, a Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued in accordance with Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program (SBCDP). For Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
