Description
EXTENSION OF CLOSING DATE ON MEDICAL EQUIPMENT'S ECAT SOLICITATION The closing date of December 6, 2000 (12/6/00) at 3:00 p.m. is hereby deleted and substituted with the following: The government will commence evaluation of proposals beginning January 2, 2001. The closing date is extended to February 16, 2001, 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Offerors may submit their proposals to the above-referenced solicitation up to and including the closing date of February 16, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. local time. Proposals submitted prior to January 2, 2001 will be evaluated commencing January 2, 2001. The government will retrieve the proposals received from the Business Opportunities Office on a semi-weekly basis beginning January 2, 2001, up to and including the closing date of February 16, 2001, 3:00 p.m. EST. Even though the government will commence evaluation of proposals on January 2, 2001, contractors will have until February 16, 2001, 3:00 p.m. EST to submit their proposals. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) in an effort to improve medical supply support to our customers, has developed the Electronic Catalog (ECAT) System. The ECAT System allows DSCP (CONUS AND OCONUS) customers to review and compare contractor electronic catalogs with the ultimate purpose of placing on-line orders to the contractor of choice. DSCP military and other government customers are currently using the ECAT System to order medically related laboratory, dental and optical supplies and limited medical equipment.DSCP Medical Equipment Group intends to enter into firm fixed-price with economic price adjustment, indefinite quantity type contracts for medical equipment used by medical professionals, technicians and laboratory personnel to perform a treatment, test or operation. We are soliciting for Contractors' entire medical equipment product lines. All items will be identified by the manufacturer's item descriptions and part numbers and conform to manufacturer's specifications. All materials used in fabrication are to be furnished by successful offerors. Ordering sites will be choosing from an electronic catalog the items they wish to procure. This is an unrestricted acquisition. The resultant contract(s) will be for a five-year term.. A sampling of the products to be contracted are: defibrillators, pulse oximeters, aspirators, ventilators, examination tables/surgical tables, repair parts, dental systems/handpieces, infusion pumps, suction apparatus, resuscitators, patient monitors, electrocardiographs, analyzers/test equipment, anesthesia apparatus, medical furniture, hospital beds/chairs/stretchers, laboratory and analyzers, small portable ultrasounds, litters. Items excluded from this solicitation are: ultrasounds (other than small portable ultrasounds), diagnostic x-ray, magnetic resonance imaging systems, nuclear medicine, Computed Tomography, Magnetoencephalography, Pet Scanner, Cyclotron, Lasers, Radiation Oncology, Lithotripsy and PACS.
