Description
The Occupational Epidemiology Branch (OEB) of the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) intends to negotiate a contract with Vanderbilt University for collection of a spot urine sample from an estimated 4,500 women, a 10-ml blood sample from an estimated 10,000 women, and a buccal cell sample from an estimated 16,000 women who are participating in the parent women's cohort study being conducted in Shanghai, China. The samples will be collected over a 2-year period. In addition, all biospecimen collection data and interview data will be computerized, including the Chinese characters describing the industries, occupations, and job tasks and products reported by the cohort participants in their work history. Authority: 41 USC 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Number Note 22 applies as follows: The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No collect calls will be accepted.
