- Description
- The USEPA intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis, under the authority of FAR 6.301, with the University of California at Davis to provide a research study to evaluate the use of Bionets to inoculate and oxygenate groundwater and soil. This research study will enable and study speedy bioremediaton of a site in Montanta contaminated with MTBE, by inocoulating an MTBE degrading aerobic non-pathogenic bacteria that can be easily monitored. This study must enable easy monitoring of the inoculated isolate with a gene probe from both soil and groundwater. The contractor shall identify sampling and holding procedures for both soil and groundwater samples; write Quality Assurance Project Plan according to EPA/ORD guidelines; analyze 500 samples in 12 months for presence and enumeration of PMI; evaluate results and submit them to the EPA Project Officer in written deliverables; write and submit draft and final publication for peer reviewed journal article.
