Description
This is a correction/revision to the synopsis of the same title posted on October 13th, 2000. The Chief of Naval Education and Training (CNET) has a requirement to install twenty-two (22) AECs containing twenty-five (25) student stations and one (1) instructor station each at the Advanced Electronics Training School Service Command (SSC) in Great Lakes. CNET identified a need for a trainer that would provide students with a broad range of theory and hands-on maintenance training for basic, intermediate and advanced electronic skills. The items procured will be used in the Advance Electronics Training Course (AETC), SSC Great Lakes. A complete instructor/student station is made up of the Government provided generic computers with basic operating systems, basic desks and chairs for all classrooms, and the contractor provided and installed test console that has the assorted circuit card sets that will be used to teach the skills required for the course and the software that helps teach the course skills and integrates the test console with the computers, to include the computer managed interface, computer assisted instruction software, student management software, and multimedia presentation software. These 22-25 seat AECs containing a total of 550 student trainers and 22 instructor stations will supplement 8-25 seat NIDA Model 130E AECs containing a total of 200 student stations and 8 instructor stations currently in use at the AETC. This is a market survey to identify potential alternate sources for AECs. Existing AECs have previously been procured on a sole source basis from the NIDA Corporation, 300 S. John Rodes Blvd., Melbourne, FL. This expansion must be compatible with the existing NIDA Corporation commercial off-the-shelf equipment and software currently in use at SSC, and the NIDA software site license for the courseware must not be violated. This is a non-developmental requirement for commercial off-the-shelf hardware and software to be installed and integrated with the existing NIDA AECs at Great Lakes no later than May 31st, 2001. Respondents are requested to provide questions, comments, and recommendations, along with their company name, address, email, telephone number and POC.
