Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires the services of contractors to provide medical consultant services in the following specialties: Neurology; Pediatrics; Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation; Internal Medicine; and Orthopedics. This procurement will be for commercial item services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. Consultation services shall consist of the review of medical evidence in disability claims on-site only at 1221 Nevin Avenue, Richmond, CA. Offerors must: (1) have a valid license to practice medicine in the US; (2) have current or recent clinical experience; and (3) be available for onsite work a minimum of 12 hours per week between 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. There will be no patient contact. Competitive pricing will be solicited and accepted. The expected date of contract will be in January 2001. The period of performance shall be one year from the date of award with provisions for the inclusion of four one-year option periods. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about November 2, 2000, with proposals due 28 days later. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. Proposals received from other than small business will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted.
