Description
This is a modification to the synopsis entitled Crew Return vehicle for International Space Station which was originally posted on December 23, 1998, and subsequently modified on January 21, 1999, February 25, 1999, October 4, 1999, and September 22, 2000. Please note that the mail code for the Contracting Officer, Delene Sedillo, is BH13. The following additional information is provided regarding the change in the implementation of the acquisition strategy for the CRV procurement: The synopsis modification issued on Friday, September 22, 2000, stated that the Phase 1 period will be divided into 2 separate periods, Phase 1a and Phase 1b. Phase 1a will consist of a 1-year period to produce an interim design in accordance with the SOW requirements specified for the Interim Design Review 2 and submission of a proposal for the remaining Phase 1b and Phase 2 periods. An additional change in the implementation is the number of contracts to be awarded for the Phase 1a period. NASA anticipates awarding "up to three" contracts with the maximum amount available for the Phase 1a period of $21 million per contractor. In addition, it is anticipated that the maximum amount available for the Phase 1b period will be $49 million.
