Description

This effort will be a new contract with Raytheon Company, Electronic Systems, El Segundo, CA to define efforts required to enhance the Firefinder AN/TPQ-47 battlefield performance associated with processing, displaying and reporting Tactical Ballistic Missiles (TBM's). Ease of operator use by properly displaying the long range data coupled with a robust communications suite will enhance the AN/TPQ-47's capability to effectively process and report TBM data in a timely manner. Both hardware and software changes are required for implementation. If possible, building and testing of any hardware and software shall be integrated into the existing AN/TPQ-47 program schedule. The present User Test schedule is to be maintained. All areas will be performed through the Integrated Project Team (IPT) process. The work is in two efforts as follows: TBM Early Warning and Cueing: The present complement of radios and communication devices/paths shall be supplemented (Both hardware and software) to ensure timely and accurate transfer of digital data containing the TBM data parameters. TBM Simulation: the contractor shall develop and integrate a High Level Architecture (HLA) capability into the AN/TPQ-47 system. This is a Sole Source acquisition, authority cited is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(b)(1) "Only One Responsible Source" as Raytheon Company is currently developing the AN/TPQ-47 in response to a performance specification. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that shall be considered by the agency. Note 22.
