K -- AIR CONVERSION AND REFURBISHMENT SOL W813LT 0213-7031 DUE 090800 POC Jean Craig, Contract Specialist, ph 410-278-6517, fx 410-278-6522 The US Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005, plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of Services for the Air Conversion and Refurbishment of Model 43734A Option 074, also to test and certify remote tube heads 43734A Option 075 and an air conversion panel, PN 130-195100. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). ARL intends to purchase the above as a sole source procurement from Maxwell Technologies, San Leandro, CA, to maintain original system compatibility. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. This is a firm-fixed price procurement. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing via FAX 410-278-6522 to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
