published 11 May 2000, by changing the period of performance from "a
period of six months, with two additional six month option periods" to
"a base period of performance from 1 February 2001 through 30 April
2001 and three, three-month options." The Operational Contracting
Division, Los Angeles AFB, CA intends to negotiate and award a contract
for official and unofficial travel services at Los Angels AFB. The
intent of this action is to cover lag time from expiration of the
current Commercial Travel Services Contract until implementation of the
Defense Travel System, currently scheduled to be deployed at Los
Angeles AFB 1 April 01. Interested contractors shall submit a statement
of capability (SOC) addressing personnel, equipment and license to
operate a full-service commercial travel office on Los Angeles AFB for
both official government and leisure travel. The government will
provide, without cost, adequate office space (approximately 1,445
square feet) and the following services: water, electric, gas,
intra-base mail distribution, on-base, local and Defense Systems
Network telephone service, custodial service, refuse collection, insect
and rodent control, security police and fire protection. All responses
received by 15 September 2000 will be considered. The acquisition will
be conducted under full and open competition. The government will not
recognize costs associated with the submission of SOC. Information
received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining
whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Posted 08/22/00
