E-MAIL: B. Terry Cobb, t.g.cobb@larc.nasa.gov. NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for EFIS 2000 (Electronic Flight Information System)which includes cables and accessories. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, however, quotes received with in 15 days, will be considered. NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the item from Sierra Flight Systems, Inc. This is a fully integrated multifunction and navigation display system that Sierra Flight Systems has developed. NASA/LaRC will use this system to evaluate for the purpose of certification tactical low resolution 3D terrain presentation, a strategic display featuring a moving map, 2D terrain display with altert device system, and connections for weather radar. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort via fax or in writing to Ms. Terry Cobb, NASA/LaRC, M/S 126, 9 Langley Blvd., Bldg. 1195A, Room 214, Hampton, VA 23681; fax number 757-864-6966 not later than 4:00p.m. local time on September 6, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
