The U.S. Geological Survey's Hammond Bay Biological Station in Millersburg, Michigan has a design/build requirement for modification of their water intake system. The current water intake system consists of a 14" line from Lake Huron that ends under the parking lot about 25' from the building. There, it is reduced to a 6" line that enters the building and feeds one 10 HP pump that currently provides about 450 GPM to a surge tank. We want to modify the system to add a second 10 HP 500-600 GPM pump. Specific work requirements are set forth in the Statement of Work. The Request for Quote (RFQ) may be viewed at our web site mentioned below or requested from the Contracting Officer in writing after it is issued. We anticipate issuance of the Request for Quote (RFQ) on August 11, 2000. There is a site visit scheduled for August 21, 2000 at 10:00am ET. This will be the only site visit scheduled. Quotes are by close of business September 11, 2000. There will be a mandatory performance period of forty-five (45)calendar days from date of award. The magnitude of this project is estimated at between $25,000 and $100,000. The SIC code is 1623. The size standard is $17 million. The proposed procurement listed here is being issued as an UNRESTRICTED acquisition pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
