Johnson, Contracting Officer, (202) 205-4916 The Administration for Children and Families, Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) is soliciting proposals to conduct training and technical assistance and other national activities that address problems which impede the self-sufficiency of special population groups, which include African Americans and other underserved minorities. The Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 1996 (the DD Act), as amended by P.L. 104-183, supports and provides assistance to states and public and private nonprofit agencies and organizations to assure that all individuals with development disabilities receive the services, assistance, and opportunities necessary to enable them to achieve their maximum potential through increased independence, productivity, and integration into the community. This project will focus on partnering with the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), the Social Security Administration (SSA), and programs of the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), including the Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE), to help special populations include African Americans and other minority or disadvantaged persons with disabilities to overcome barriers that have been paramount in preventing access to services and other program supports. The period of performance is 12 months with two one-year options to extend the contract. Interested parties should request RFP No. 105-00-7020.
