Botella, Point of Contact, Eileen LeGates, Contracting Officer, (215)233-6551, fax (215) 233-6558 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), intends to negotiate solely with Genetix North America in Hercules, CA to furnish and deliver FOB Destination to the USDA, ARS, U.S. Plant Soil & Nutrition Lab, in Ithaca, New York, for a Q-Bot High Resolution Picking and Gridding System, accessories and consumables. This system will be used for high resolution picking, replicating, re-arraying, and gridding of BAC, cosmid and cDNA libraries. The Q Bot is a High Resolution Picking and Gridding System which includes: 1) a 15 filter workbed with the following stations: Ethanol bath/brusher sterilizer, Air dryer, Automated lid removal, and Light table; 2) one (1) 96-pin picking head (0.4 mm); 3) one (1) 384-pin Gridding Head (0.25 mm); 4) two plate hotels which holds 36 source plates each; 5) a Replication Package. The Picking and Gridding System also includes 15 filter plate holders and 4 destination plate holder (each holds 6 microtiter plates). The equipment also includes all software, installation, training, a standard commercial warranty, and two sets of the software and operations and maintenance manuals for all components of the system. The system's resolution for the X-Y axes is 1um and the Z axes is 10um, with an overall axes resolution of 4um. Additional components for the system includes one (1) each of the following: a Re-Arraying Package; an Air Filtering System; a Bar Code Reader; an Air Compressor; and a 3-station wash. The accessories include: 11) 1-each, 96-pin Gridding Head (0.4 mm); 12) 1-each, 384-Pin Gridding Head (0.4 mm); 13) 300-each, Gridding Pins (0.4mm); 14) 100-each, Gridding Pins (0.25 mm); 15) 1000-each, Gridding Springs; 16) 100-each, Picking Pins; 17) 300-each, Picking Springs; 18) 1-each Jaw Assembly; 19) 20-each, Vacuum Cups for Lid Lift; and 20) an additional 12-month warranty.
