ITEM 2: CUSTOM FC3 BOARD FOR PRECISION CONTROL AND CONSOLIDATION OF ALL FUSED DEPOSITION MODELING SYSTEM COMPONENTS, INCLUDING MOTION CONTROL, EXTRUSION HEAD RATES, FILAMENT FEED AND TEMPERATURE MAINTENANCE. PART NO. FC3. QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 3: ACCURATE TEMPERATURE MONITORING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR BUILD AND SUPPORT EXTRUSION TIPS AS WELL AS CHAMBER ENVELOPE OF THE FUSED DEPOSITION MODELER. PART NO. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Stratasys, Inc., 14950 Martin Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. This recommendation is made pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on July 24, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
