The Department of Veterans Affairs, John D. Dingell Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan is searching for an Architect/Engineer (A/E) firm to prepare preliminary drawings, construction drawings, bid package documents and construction period services for a construction project to replace domestic hot water tanks at this medical center. Construction consists of removing four existing domestic hot water tanks and replacing them with instantaneous hot water tanks; provide insulation of all new and existing hot water tanks, flash tanks and exposed pipes in machine room, and install an existing Leslie hot water tank in machine room. Construction is estimated to be between $100,000 and $250,000. The A/E should have Licensed Professional Engineers specializing in mechanical work in addition to expert construction cost estimators. The A/E should have experience dealing with interstitial building spaces in modern construction. Estimated design time is 90 calendar days.
