Commander, Marine Corps System Command, Code CTQ, 2033 Barnett Avenue, Ste 315, Quantico, VA 22134-5010

A -- CHEMICAL AGENT STANDOFF DETECTOR DUE 111299 POC Peter A. Stabile, Contracting Officer (703) 784-5822/ext 233 WEB: Marine Corps Systems Command Contracts Homepage, http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/. E-MAIL: Click here to contact Contracting Officer via e-mail, stabilepa@mcsc.usmc.mil. The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is interested in obtaining information regarding available commercial technology for a lightweight, passive, chemical agent standoff detector. The detector must be capable of detecting battlefield chemical warfare agents in real time or near real time. It must have a view of 360 degrees, and be able to be operated "on the move" when mounted on various platforms. The detector must have the ability to be remotely controlled, and must provide for accurate detection and identification of chemical warfare agents at distances in excess of 5 km. The equipment must be lightweight, have a high degree of accuracy, be reliable, immune to false alarms, and be available for government evaluation and testing between DEC 99 and DEC 00. MARCORSYSCOM does not desire to procure any such equipment at this time but would be willing to enter into an agreement whereby the detector would be provided for the sole purpose of integration and testing by its design integrator inconnection with the development of the Joint Service Light Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Reconnaissance System (JSLNBCRS). The terms of such an agreement would hold the government harmless from cost or liability for loss of or damage to property or persons, but would offer as consideration access to all technical data resulting from the government's testing. JSLNBCRS is approaching a Milestone II Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) decision, and the testing would help establish a possible alternative commercial source of the chemical agent standoff detector. Interested parties should contact the person indicated in this announcement. No solicitation document exists. Posted 10/27/99 (W-SN395768). (0300)
