The services will be performed at the SSA office located at the Southestern Program Service Center, 2001 12th Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama 35285. The contractor's responsibilities will include: providing oral and/or written consultations resulting from review of SSA disability case files; consulting with SSA's medical policy staff related to the development of SSA disability policies; training other MC contractors and other personnel; working with Government and non-government agencies and/or medical or non-medical personnel that have related interests in providing input regarding SSA programs and its objectives. There will be no contact with patients. The period of performance shall be one year or date of award, whichever is later through December 31, 1999, with provisions for three one-year renewable options periods. The solicitation number is SSA-RFP-00-7604-01 and is scheduled for release on or about November 5, 1999, with proposals due 14 days later.
