McGuire AFB, NJ is requesting information on commercial practices for providing services to operate the furnishings management office. Firms with knowledge of this service are invited to provide specifications, statements of work, or other material indicating their commercial practices. Who manages the overall furnishings process? In-house staff? Contractor? Who determines the type and style of furnishings and appliances? Who orders the type and style of furnishings and appliances? Who delivers and installs the furnishings and appliances? What is the frequency of furnishings and appliances relocation? Who picks up/delivers the furnishings and appliances for repair or disposal? Who actually accomplishes the repairs? Where do you dispose of scrap or non-repairable items? How many items or percentage do you maintain of working inventory? Where is your inventory stored?How do you insure physical and monetary accountability? Do you have a formal furnishings management contract? Do you have a formal Quality Assurance or Quality Control plan? How do you measure performance? Physical inspection? Customer compliant? How is unacceptable performance resolved? We are also interested in receiving terms and conditions customarily used in contracts for this service. Depaending on the information received in response to this RFI, the government may acquire this service under the procedures outlined in FAR Part 12 -- Acquisition of Commercial Items.
