D -- CONGRESSIONAL VOTING INFORMATION DATABASE SOL RFI-001 DUE 111299 POC Joan Fitts, Contracting Officer The Library of Congress Congressional Research Service is seeking information from electronic resource providers concerning congressional voting information from the 96th Congress (or earlier) to the present. The purpose of this Request for Information is to gather information to assist in the development of detailed requirement specifications for possible future procurement. Information regarding the following data is of particular interest: 1)Votes a. Floor votes, and recorded votes on bills, nominations, and treaties from the 96th Congress (1979) to the present, b. Committee votes from the 96th Congress (1979) to the present; 2)Subject Indexing a. Assignment of indexing terms identifying all applicable topics for each vote, b. Availability of a controlled vocabulary (thesaurus) indicating the universe of potential topics; 3)Tailored Output Formats a. Flexible output options, including the ability to select specific elements of a record (e.g. chamber, Member, legislative initiative or subject), or multiple records, for customized output. Information obtained as a result of this synopsis is for planning purposes only and shall be provided at no cost to the Government. This synopsis does not constitute an invitation for bid or request for proposal, nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government.
