INDUSTRY BRIEFING FOR AIRLIFT CONTRACTUAL SUPPORT FOR THE NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER-WEAPONS DIVISION, POINT MUGU, CA POC: Stu Hoffman, Contract Specialist, (805) 989-1947 Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Code 220000E, 521 N. 9th Street, Point Mugu, CA 93042-5001 or Dick Santanello, HQ AMC/ DOYAS, Scott AFB, IL. The Naval Test Wing Pacific, Naval Weapons Test Squadron Point Mugu, CA, together with the Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, IL, plans to hold an Industry Briefing on 19 October, 1999 from 0900 -- 1700 at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Point Mugu, CA. The anticipated procurement will be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) -- Part 12 -- Acquisition of Commercial Items. The requirement is for airlift services (FAR Part 121 and 135) to support the Naval Air Warfare Center -- Weapons Division (NAWCWPNS), Point Mugu in the movement of passengers and cargo from the Point Mugu Naval Air Station to the Navy Outlying Field at San Nicholas Island, CA and return. The anticipated solicitation will be performance based to meet the following core requirements: PASSENGER CARRIAGE CAPABILITY Point Mugu -- San Nicholas Shuttle: The aircraft proposed must be capable of meeting the following passenger transport requirements: Monday (or first working day of the week): 130 passengers from Point Mugu to San Nicholas Island within two hours from the initial scheduled morning departure. Sixty (60) passengers back from San Nicholas to Point Mugu on Monday afternoon after 1300. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, a total of 60 passengers to San Nicholas during each morning. A total of 60 passengers back to Point Mugu during each afternoon. Friday (or the last day of the work week) a total of 60 passengers to San Nicholas during the morning. A total of 130 Passengers from San Nicholas within two hours during the afternoon. The aircraft capacity should be capable of accommodating passengers and baggage in the amount of 250 lbs. per person (210+40). CARGO CARRIAGE CAPABILITY: Move 12,000 lbs. of cargo within 3 hours, as required. Govt. cargo container size 43"x66"x54" (89 cubic ft.). Container tare weight = 250 lbs., HazMat capability required. The purpose of the briefing is to inform prospective contractors of the Government's core requirements, invite industry participation in defining or improving the solicitation Statement of Agency Need and to determine if sufficient competition exists among qualified, capable and interested contractors. Attendance at the briefing will be limited to three representatives from each responding company. The briefing will be unclassified.
