A -- The U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the University of Wisconsin/Madison Space Science and Engineering Center to assist in the proposed Program of Prevention and Control of Forest Burnings and Forest Fire (PROARCO) Project. Work is done in support of real-time fire monitoring in Brazil for the 1998 fire season as requested by Brazil and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Contractor to provide the following: (1) Brazilian fire/smoke near real-time web page development and maintenance for June-November 1998, (2) GOES data from McIDAS, June-November 1998, and (3) Data archive, Data QC, Product QC, Data analysis, etc. This is a notice of intent and cannot be considered a solicitation, therefore no solicitation document exist.
