A -- The U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA/NOS intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the University of Florida/Food and Resource Economics Department to provide service for Estimation of Output Supply and Input Demand Relationships in the U.S. Atlantic Paleagic Longline Fleet. Contractor will provide the following information: (1) pelagic fisheries set and trip logbooks for 1997, including the trip logbook data that contains the economic informa- tion, (2) monthly average prices by species and area (port code or state) for all species landed by the Atlantic pelagic longline fleet for 1996 and 1997, (3) average weights and recovery rates for all species landed by the Atlantic pelagic longline fleet for 1997. A final report will be submitted in July 2000 assuming final project approval by August 1999 and receipt of additional data (described above) by October 15, 1999. The constructed data sets will be provided within six months of written approval of the final report.
