Furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary to demolish three buildings at U.S. Coast Guard Rosebank Housing Units in Staten Island, NY. In addition to demolition the project also includes asbestos and lead paint removal, new paving, new fencing, the construction of a retaining wall, new turf and the installation of a new telephone pole and associated utility work. This Invitation for Bids is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both large and small business participation and is estimated between $100,000 and $250,000. The applicable SIC Code is 1795. The tentative date for receipt of bids is 13 September 1999. Bid packages will be available on or about 11 August 1999 at a non-refundable charge of $33. Certified Checks or money orders should be made payable to Commercial Blue Print and Supply and mailed to the firm at: 83 Waverly Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Do not send fees to the Coast Guard. For minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises: the Department of Transportation (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT bonding assistance program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
