The Center for Mental Health Services/SAMHSA through the Program Support Center, General Acquisitions Branch plans to award a sole source requirement to the National Mental Health Association (NMHA) for a study on children and adolescents estimated to have (or be at risk of having) co-occuring disorders within State juvenile justice systems. The period of performance is 12 months. This project shall expand the number of States involved in a previous study conducted by NMHA. A report of collaborations with State Mental Health Planning Councils, to address the unmet needs of children with co-occuring disorders shall be provided. A training module shall be designed that could be used in educating State Mental Health Planning Cpouncils on the unmet needs in children's mental health, as a vehicle for stimulating further collaboration between the councils and other child and family advocates interested in bringing attention to this concern.
