Park Service (NPS) requests proposals from parties interested in
leasing the historic Pantheon-Red Front Building, located in Klondike
Gold Rush National Historical Park, Skagway, Alaska. The building is
located on the southwest corner of 4th and Broadway in the Skagway
Historic District, one of the prime retail locations in the state. The
building has 51 feet of store front on Broadway between 3rd and 4th
Avenues, 1889 square feet on the first floor (excluding entry,
mechanical rooms and stairways). It has been restored to its historic
appearance and is in excellent condition (some finish work required by
leasee). The building may be leased for a period of 3-15 years, though
10 years is preferred. Food service and overnight accommodation uses
are not compatible with the design of, and preservation goals for, this
building. Arcades, alcoholic beverage service, tobacco products sold
from vending machines, and entertainment inappropriate for a family
audience are also deemed unacceptable. Proposals for such uses will not
be considered. NPS will retain exclusive use of the second floor for
storage and office space. The minimum annual rent is $126,492/year
(assumes cost of construction is recovered over the 10-year life of the
lease), payable montly. Proposals must be received at Office of the
