Mount Rainier National Park is requesting quotes for the contractor to provide all supplies, labor, equipment required to do demolition and reconstruction of the historic stone chimney stack located at building L-006 (the Historic Longmire Community Building)located at Longmire. Work includes documentation of each stone and layout, demolition & exact reconstruction of chimney stack six inches below the roof line. Point & repair chimney structure including base stones as needed. Install new lead counter & step flashing. Removal of a wood burning stove & hardware. Repair cracked joints throughout masonry structure. Clean & seal exterior masonry with approved methods & sealant. Approximate completion date is September 30, 1999. Contractor must demonstrate through references their ability to do stone masonry on historic structures.
