Favors, 513/533-8137 The National Institute for Occupational Safety and
Health intends to negotitate on a sole source basis with SKC Inc. for
the procurement of the following items. 1. Fifty AC2000 sampling pumps.
The pump must be 5.6" X 3" X 2.3" in dimensions, it must weigh 22
ounces, be able to communicate with a PC via RS 232 communications
port, and be able to directly display ambient temperature, and
barometric pressure. 2. Ten 5 station pump charger. 3. Fifty Pocket
Pump Sampler, The pumps must be 4.5" X 2.2" X 1.4" in dimensions, pump
must weigh 5 ounces, it must be able to communicate with a PC via RS
233 communications port, it must be able to read back-pressure values
for constant pressure sampling applications, and must be able to
datalog ambient air temperature values. 4. Ten 5 station pump chargers.
5. Two DC Lite Calibrators. 6. Two DC Lite Calibrator 2ml-500ML. 7. One
Cal pocket pump manuf. equip. The equipment must be able to communicate
VIA RS232 communication cable to a PC or Laptop. The pumps must be able
to operate in the constant pressure range. The pumps must allow for
manual or computer programming. The pumps must be able to record
environmental conditions (I.E., temperature) during sampling operation.
The pumps' internal electronic components must be shielded from RFI
interferences. The LCD, must show a readout for flow rate, run time,
sampling volume, battery status, flow fault, and pressure and
temperature. NIOSH source research indicates that SKC, Inc. is the only
vendor capable of meeting the requirements. However, any firm believing
itself capable of meeting the requirements may submit technical
documentation to demonstrate its potential of doing so. Otherwise NIOSH
will proceed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The
proposed purchase order is for equipment for which the Government
intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the
authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for
quotations. An RFQ will not be issued. However all quotations received
within fifteen (15) days after the date of this synopsis is posted
electronically will be considered by the Government. A determination
not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is
solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received
will generally be for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a
