Christianson, Contracting Officer The Marine Corps Tactical System Support Activity intends to award a sole-source contract to Lockheed Martin Corporation (Ocean, Radar and Sensor Systems Division), Syracuse, New York for Contractor Engineering and Technical Services (CETS) in support of the AN/TPS-59(V)1 & (V)3 Radar System. Contract field services personnel will provide technical non-personal services, on a worldwide basis, in planning for and instruction of Marine Corps personnel in maintenance, calibration, and repair of the AN/TPS-59(V)1 & (V)3 Radar System. During the initial period of performance, the contract field service personnel will provide support to the fielded using units of the AN/TPS-59(V)3. The initial period of performance will be 1 October 1999 through 30 September 2000 with a four successive option years, ending in 30 September 2004. As the manufacturer of the TPS-59, Lockheed Martin has been determined to be the only source that has the technical knowledge and experience necessary to understand the complexities of the AN/TPS-59 and to therefore provide the minimum level of field support required. No RFP is available for competitive bidding. Interested parties, however, are encouraged to submit a statement of capability for satisfying the requirement.
