66 -- INSTRUMENTS & LABORATORY EQUIPMENT(SCALEABLE GRADIENT DRIVES) SOL RFQ-NCI-90126-NQ DUE 071699 POC Cynthia Brown, Purchasing Agent, 301-402-4509, Todd Cole, Contracting Officer  The National Cancer Institute(NCI), on behalf of the In Vivo NMR Research Center, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke(NINDS), plans to procure Scaleable Gradient Drives for a 1.5 Tesla Signa Magnet form General Electric Medical systems, 7272 Park Circle Drive, Suite 300, Hanover, Md. 21076. General Electric is the only source known to NINDS that provides scaleable gradients that are compatible to the existing system and that ensures the existing system warranty from GE is maintained. The Scaleable Gradient Drives for the Signa System shall have the following characteristics and features: 1. The Scaleable Gradient SubSystem shall be completely compatible with the existing Government-owned Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit(Signa #301496-NRM). 2. The subsystem shall provide excellent performance for both high spatial and high temporal resolution acquisitions. 3. The Slew Rate and Duty cycle performance shall provide short TR's and TE's to maximize image contrast and signal to noise ratios for a wide range of applications. 4. The drives shall provide excellent small field of view, thin slice acquisitions for both 2D and 3D imaging volumes. 5. The drives shall utilize an integrated body combining both gradient and RF body coils into a single module. It is the Government's belief that these requirements can only be met by General Electric Medical Systems. This notice is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. It is for information purposes. However, if any interested party believes it can provide the above system, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities and any other information furnished must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NINDS to determine if the party can meet this requirement herein.
