Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supervison and equipment to cleanup, removal and disposal of all asbestos containing materials (ACM) in the basement and crawl spaces of a concrete one story residential type building. In addition, the boiler shall be tested for ACM. The full concrete basement has a concrete floor and concrete/terra cotta tile ceiling approximately 8 feet high. The basement is accessed by concrete stairway which leads directly outdoors to the rear building. It is divided by concrete partition walls into several rooms and a central corridor. It also contains a double-height boiler room, accessed from the corridor by a metal stairway. The two crawl spaces are approximately 4 ft high, have dirt floors and are enclosed by concrete walls. They are located at opposite ends of the building. They are accesible only through 2.5 ft sq manholes in the basement bedroom wall and the boiler room wall. The abatement areas contain approximately 670 LF of 4" -8" diameter pipe that is covered with 40% chrysotile piping insulation. Much of the insulation is friable and there is dust and debris on many surfaces through the project area. Boiler and raditors related to the heating system are also located in the basement.
