The proposed acquisition is for seventy seven (77) Diesel Engines. This item is source controlled and is manufactured in accordance with specifications in source controlled drawing 88-21030. Therefore, competition will be restricted to manufacturers that are currently approved. The Army does not possess the necessary hardware and documentation to enable another contractor to provide the necessary service. The one company known by the Government that can provide diesel engines is Onan Corp., sub of Cummins Engine, Inc. of Minneapolis, MN 55432-3397. However, all resonsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
