Sources Sought- The U.S. Navy=92s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery = has=20 authorized a Commercial Activities (C/A) "10 and Under Study" of the=20 Occupational Medicine function at the Naval Hospital at Cherry Point, = NC. The=20 Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk Detachment = Philadelphia is=20 seeking sources and industry capabilities for the Occupational Medicine = (OM)=20 Program. The function encompasses resource management; clinic support; = information management; medical examinations including pre-placement=20 examinations, certification examinations, surveillance examinations, = and=20 medical suitability determinations; evaluation, treatment, referral and = case=20 management of work-related injuries and illnesses; audiology services = related=20 to the Hearing Conservation Program, including hearing examinations, = promotion=20 of hearing conservation, determinations of causality for identified = hearing=20 loss, determinations for referral or follow up care and evaluation for = hearing=20 aids, ordering hearing aids and making the models; and optometry = services=20 related to the Sight Conservation Program, including vision = examinations, and=20 promotion of vision conservation. The contractor also will provide = clinical=20 consultative services including evaluations of pregnant women for = environmental=20 exposure that might cause reproductive problems; second opinions on = personnel=20 qualifications; non-clinical consultative services including work site=20 evaluations, occupational health program evaluations, risk assessment,=20 assistance to management and human resources offices, the employee = assistance=20 program, and industrial hygiene on occupational health issues; = individual and=20 group training on occupational medicine to Government personnel to = promote a=20 safe and healthy workplace and general health; and serve as a = professional=20 resource to review clinic policies, programs and processes related to=20 occupational safety and health and identify opportunities for = improvement. =20 This includes recommendations for improving information technology, = budget=20 planning, equipment replacement and establishing viable metrics to = measure=20 program performance. The contractor will assist in the development of = standard=20 operating procedures to deliver occupational medicine services and = perform=20 occupational epidemiology functions including monitoring sentinel = health=20 events, analyzing work-related illness and injury data, and studying = workplace=20 clusters.
