(NAVAIR) intends to issue a contract modification to N00019-98-C-0112
originally awarded on July 26, 1998 to the OEM, Lockheed Martin Corp.
The modification includes production and installation of an additional
24 bleed air ducts (BAD) (total 56 BAD kits) and an additional 63
overheat detection system (ODS) kits (total 95 ODS kits) on USN and
USMC C-130 aircraft. The total value of this contract modification is
approximately $13 million. As the original designer, developer, and
manufacturer of the C-130 aircraft, Lockheed Martin Corp owns the
required proprietary data along with the knowledge and facilities
required to build and install the required BAD/ODS kits. SEE NOTE 22
