market survey to locate sources for the cyclic and catastrophic
overhaul of battlefield communications shelters and their associated
hardware used in the U.S. Army's Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE)
communications system. The assemblages (to include shelters and
associated equipment) to be overhauled under this procurement are Small
Extension Node switches, AN/TTC-48A(V)1, AN/TTC-48C(V)1, V2, V3, V4 and
AN/TTC-48D(V)1; Large Extension Switching Group, ON-305(V)1
/TTC-46C(V); Large Extension Operations Groups, OL-412C(V)1/TTC-46,
OL-412C(V)2/TTC-46C(V), OL-412D(V)1/TTC-46D(V) and
OL-412D(V)2/TTC-46D(V); Node Center Switching Groups,
ON-306C(V)1/TTC-47C(V) and ON-306D(V)1/TTC-47E(V); Node Center
Operations Groups, OL-413C(V)1/TTC-47C(V), OL-413C(V)2/TTC-47C(V),
OL-413D(V)1/TTC-47D(V), OL-413D(V)2/TTC-47D(V), OL-413E(V)1/TTC-47E(V);
LOS Multichannel Radio Terminals, AN/TRC-190(V)1 V2, V3, and V4,
AN/TRC-190A(V)1 V2, V3, and V4 and AN/TRC-190B(V)3; Radio Access Units,
AN/TRC-191(V)1 and AN/TRC-191A(V)1 Technical Shelter, OL-489/TYQ-46(V);
Management/Planning Shelters, OL-490/TYQ-46(V), OL-617/TYQ-76(V)1, and
OL-617A(V)1/TYQ-76A(V)1; Communications Central, AN/TTC-50; LOS
Multichannel Radio Terminals, AN-TRC-198(V)1 and AN/TRC-198(V)2;
Management Facility, AN/TSQ-154 (V)1; Spares Facility, AN/TSM-183;
Maintenance Facility, AN/TSM-182. These shelters, completely populated
with communications equipment were procured from GTE Government
Systems Corporation. The shelter overhaul effort will include initial
testing of the shelters and their associated equipment, removal of the
equipment, overhaul or repair of the equipment, structural and
cosmetic refurbishment of the shelters, reinstallation of the
equipment, and final operational testing of the overhauled shelter. The
contractor for this work must be proficient in testing the performance
of digital communications systems equipment, and must have clearance
for communications security (COMSEC) equipment. The Army can not
provide detailed technical data onthe design/construction of the
shelters, or on the design, testing, and diagnostics of the installed
equipment. The Army will specify the Shelter Product Acceptance Test,
but can not provide specialized test equipment. For more detailed
