The purpose of the solicitation is to establish a firm fixed price national contract for Human Insulin (rDNA) for the Depaaartment of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The solicitation includes all 100 units/ml and 70/30 (NPH/REG) formulations in 10 ml package sizes. The award will be made to one manufacture across the entire product line. The objectives of the contract are to standardize the use of Human Insulin for the treatment of DOD and VA patients, insure availability and consistency of product for DOD and VA nationwide usage, and to obtain volume-based, committed use pricing. The estimated annual DoD/VA requirements are 3.5 million vials with total of 18.6 million dollars. The term of the contract will be a base year with three(3) option years.
