Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia, requests industry review, comments, and recommendations of the specifications for the drydocking, maintenance, and repair of US Coast Guard vessels. This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. It is not a Request for Proposal (or solicitation) or an indication that a contract will exist for this requirement. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED. The specifications are intended to delineate the Coast Guard's minimum requirements for drydocking facilities and procedures. The specification is applicable to all cutter and boat classes, located in both the Atlantic and Pacific areas of operation. The purpose of this RFI is to obtain comments from industry for improving our documents and to take advantage of best ideas in the market place. This agency will review responses and may contact selected firms for further discussions. As industry may expect to see portions of submitted information in future solicitations, no proprietary information may be submitted. Responses must also include their business size and state that the contractor is not on the GSA Parties Excluded from Procurement Programs. The deadline for submissions is 15 January 1999.
