F -- ELY AERIAL SEEDING 1998 SOL NDQ990008 DUE 011199 POC Sharon Krenek 303/236-9443; Contracting Officer, Rex Thomsen 303/236-9443 The Ely Field Office of the Bureau Of Land Management has a requirement for furnishing labor, equipment, supplies, and materials to aerially apply grass seed to approximately 5,527 acres at eight different sites located from nine (9) miles south to sixty (60) miles southeast of Caliente, Lincoln County, Nevada. Site locations are along Rainbow Canyon, Meadow Valley Wash, including acreage within "Desert" Military Operations Area (MOA) and Clover Mountain Wilderness Study Area. Due to the steep terrain, lack of landing strips, and the anticipated poor condition of roads at the work sites, it shall be required that helicopters only be used for seeding. A minimum of two (2) seed buckets with at least 35 cubic foot capacity shall be required. The contractor will be required to demonstrate to the Government that the equipment and pilot can evenly distribute the designated seed at the rates specified.
