Hurlburt Field intends to negotiate on a sole source basis the acquisition of Upgrade Kits for the two existing MK5 and MK6 ANDROS robots manufactured by REMOTEC, In., 114 Union Valley Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 10 USC 2304(c)(1) based on only one known source for this product. The Government requires the Upgrade Kits to include, but not limited to: Skid Replacements, Wheel Hub Upgrades with relief slot tracks, Pneumatic Wheels, Fiber Optics Cable, Accessory Interface Mounts, X-Ray Mounts, Charge Dropping Reel, Window Breaker Assembly, Night Vision Kit, Radio Control Assembly, Briefcase Controller, Shoulder Rotator, Wrist Pitch with Extension, Claw Assembly, and Vertical Surveillance Cameras. The options listed must be compatible with the above mentioned robots. All components must match these robots mechanically and electrically. This requirement will be purchased under FAR Part 12 -- Acquisition of Commercial Items. A commercial item is defined as any item, other than real property, that is of a type customarily used for non-governmental purposes and that has been sold, leased, or licensed to the general public. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered. Award will not be made on the basis of responses to this synopsis. Inquiries concerning this synopsis must be in writing and may be faxed to (850) 884-5372.
