CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY NOMINATIONS The Government Information Technology Services (GITS) Board plans to launch a Center of Excellence for Information Technology (CEIT) in the Fall 1999. The CEIT will showcase organizations that have successfully applied we-enabled technology to their business processing resulting in significant savings/process improvements to the organization. A model of the CEIT will be showcased at the Virtual GOvernemnt COnference, sponsored by Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), February 23-25, 1999 in Washington, DC. The GITS Board is seeking nominations from both private and public sector organizations to showcase their we-enabled applications at the Virtual Governemnt Conference in FEbruary 1999. An evaluation team will select several web-enabled business processes that meet the high standards that will be expected from the CEIT. Chosen organizations will be contacted early January 1999.
