Davy, Regional Contract Specialist, 606-253-8892 The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award a nonpersonal service contract to a qualified individual or company to perform Medical assistant services at the Federal Correctional Institution, Ashland, Kentucky. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing certification and training as a medical assistant, laboratory assistant or emergency medical technician, providing evidence of current certification of basic cardiac life support, assisting the physician or physicians assistant with patient flow in a clinic setting by measuring the patients vital signs, and weight, organizing, scheduling and performing lab studies within the health service unit, performing lab specimen collections, acquiring and maintaining knowledge of the health service manual, assisting the Health Service Administrator in the coordination of reference lab contacts, providing inservice training to the health service staff, assisting with the writing and implementing policies that deal with the lab program, and performing prescribed emergency type care under the supervision of the primary care provider. The schedule shall be five six hour sessions per week, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. -- 2:30 p.m., excluding Federal holidays. This is a nonpersonal service contract and not a personnel appointment. The solicitation is 100% set aside for small business.
