U.S. Coast Guard has a requirement for repair, inspection, testing,
preservation and packaging of Shaft(s), Propulsion, Wing Tail, NSN
2010-01-030-4824, 57"5 length, approximately 180,700 lbs., 62" flange
O.D., 34" max. shaft diameter, 2 each (1 each FY99 & 1 each FY2000) in
accordance with U.S. Coast Guard specifications and drawings. Each
shaft shall be both dynamically and statically balanced on equipment
that requiress rotation of the shaft(s). Welding procedures, welders,
and welding operations shall be qualified in accordance with
S9074-AQ-010/248. All welding repairs shall be in accordance with
MIL-STD-2191(SH). The following testing is also required: Welding in
accordance with MIL-STD-2035, Magnetic Particle & Ultrasonic Testing in
accordance with MIL-S-23284A Appendix A, and Liquid Penetrant Method in
accordance with T9074-AS-GIB-010/271, penetrant group III &
MIL-S-23284A, Appendix A. The contractor shall maintain an inspection
system which meets or exceeds ANSI/ASQC-Q9003. The contractor as well
as any subcontractor shall be required to maintain a test equipment
calibration program in compliance with ANSI/NCSL Z540-1. the contractor
shall provide, install and finish new liners and sleeves as outlined on
drawings 400 WAGB-4301-4&5 and figures 1 & 2 as required for specific
shaft. The required liners shall be made in accordance with
ASTM-B369-93 UNS No. C96400 centrifugally casted with Supplementary
Requirements S2.1, S3, S5.1. No repairs of any kind shall be allowed on
these castings. The sleeves shall be manufactured from Ni-CR-Mo-Cb
alloy (UNS N06625, INCONEL 625). The material shall be ASTM-A-781
(centrifugal Casting only) Straightening & Balancing. This is a
requirements type contract for Base Year for an estimated quanitity of
1 each option year for an estimated quantity of 1 each. Delivery is to
be FOB Destination to the West Coast of the United States to be named
upon issuance of teh Solicitation. Delivery of the repaired shaft(s) is
no later than 31 December 1999. When calling to request a copy of the
