D -- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR "TRANSPONDER ADMINISTRATOR" SOL 98003 DUE 111898 POC Don Hartman, (606) 257-4513 ext. 239; Joe Crabtree, (606) 257-4513 ext. 241 The Kentucky Transportation Center at the University of Kentucky is soliciting information from qualified respondents regarding provision of services for electronic screening/clearance at weigh/inspection stations on the behalf of several jurisdictions (states and provinces). This is intended as the initial phase of procurement for a "transponder administrator" and possible other supporting services for a growing number of jurisdictions. Some of the interested jurisdictions are now operating under a base state agreement and others are operating under a pooled funding arrangement. Most of these jurisdictions and possibly others are expected to join in a new not-for-profit organization to expand an interoperable system of electronic screening/clearance at weigh/inspection stations.
