The Coast Guard is seeking qualified sources to consider in an award of
a contract for the following material: John Crane-Houdaille Shaft Seals
and Associated replacements parts in support of various Coast Guard
vessels main propulsion shafting. The Coast Guard ELC does not own
sufficient data to evaluate the form, fit, and function of an or equal
part(s). Request the offeror submit the data outlined in this
announcement. The offeror shall provide the technical data package,
which shall include Level III drawings in accordance with ANSI Y14.5M.
The offeror shall submit in accordance with MIL-I-45208 the following:
The Quality Assurance Inspection Plan of the or equal parts for review.
The parts offered shall be phsically identified in accordance with
MIL-STD-130. The offeror shall submit for review all Level III drawing
sets in accordance with DOD-STD-1000 and Q/A test plan of the OEM.
Warranty: The offeror shall submit complete description of warranty for
the offered parts. The description shall include the following: A.) The
limits of the offeror's liability associated with the offerors parts.
B.) The identity of the warranty origin and the authority to enforce
and trasfer warranty of the parts. C) The normal warranty enforcement
period offered with the parts. D) The offerors procedures for the
implementing of repair/replacement of warranted itmes. This notice is
for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office
of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program
to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises
to acquire short-term working capital assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
