The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate with AIL Systems Inc., Deer Park, New York, to procure the fourth production lot of the AN/ALQ-99 Universal Exciter Upgrade (UEU). If awarded, the contract will contain a basic buy of approximately 60 UEU systems, associated data, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), spares and priced options for up to a maximum for 110 UEUs, data, ILS, and spares. The UEU is a Weapon Replaceable Assembly (WRA) that is pod mounted on the EA-6B aircraft. The UEU operates in a real time environment as part of the AN/ALQ-99 Electronic Countermeasures System. The UEU produces radar and communication jamming signals on two transmitter-related channels, and performs testing and calibration functions under the direction of the On-Board Tactical Computer. AIL Systems Inc., is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the AN/ALQ-99 UEU and is the only known source that can meet program schedule requirements. See note No. 22!!
